“I still haven’t been to the Lawn on D.” – a lot of my friends, but mostly Alexia Filice
After a productive Tuesday of classes and work, Alexia and I decided to go to the Lawn on D and walk around one of my favorite parts of Boston. It was a well deserved study break.
Alexia and I met during our first semester of freshman year in our calc class, and our friendship was solidified over Instagram and a game of Two Dots (both of which are still very relevant in our lives). The first time we hung out, I took her picture in Melbourne’s Royal Botanical Gardens:
She insisted pictures didn’t agree with her because she’s “so awkward” but she managed just fine.
One year later: photos of Alexia, Round 2.
Lex makes taking her picture more difficult than it should be because she thinks she’s indescribably awkward… (guys, look how cute Alexia is). But we’re working on it!
I’ve had a lot of friends ask me to take their picture, but warn me about their awkwardness prior to shooting. They apologize in advance because they don’t know how to pose (where do I look? where do I put my hands??).
Guys, my number 1 priority is that you are comfortable in front of the camera. (Also… I’m not a pro on posing people people (unless it’s ballet — that’s different) …but I’m getting better!) Other than telling you where to stand, I work really hard to try to capture you in your natural element! I’m all about those candid shots!! Admittedly, some people are more comfortable in front of the camera than others, but nevermind them. Your pictures are about showing who you are!!!!!
PSA to all my friends basically: you’re all beautiful, let me take your picture.
Until next time!
